Arjun Malhotra

Advisor

Arjun Malhotra, our advisor, is a serial entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience of building and managing businesses in the technology sector. He co-founded the HCL group in 1975, taking it from a six-person “garage operation” to one of India’s largest IT corporations. He took over HCL’s US operations in 1989 and grew it to nearly US$100 million in annual revenues. He also ran the HCL-HP joint venture in 1992 in India, and further consolidated HCL operations in Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
Subsequently, Mr. Malhotra co-founded his IT consulting company, TechSpan, in 1998 with funding from Goldman Sachs and Walden. Techspan was merged with IT services company Headstrong in 2003, with Mr. Malhotra as the Chairman of the combined entity, which was acquired by Genpact Limited in 2011 for US$550 million.
Mr. Malhotra is presently an Advisor in a number of start-ups in the education and healthcare space. He graduated in Electronics from IIT Kharagpur and was awarded the Dr. B C Roy Gold Medal and has attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
